Accessibility Solutions for Sidney Residents & Businesses
As the Shelby County seat, Sidney carries a proud small-town community feel anchored by its downtown courthouse square and the architectural gem of the People's Federal Savings & Loan Building, designed by famed architect Louis Sullivan. The neighborhoods radiating out from the square and along the Great Miami River are home to generations of families who value independence and neighborly support. Messer & Co. brings that same spirit of care to every accessibility project we complete in Sidney, helping residents remain comfortable and safe in the homes they love.
Sidney's residential areas range from the historic homes near the courthouse square to the ranch-style houses along the corridors leading toward Graceland Park—known locally as Tawawa Park. Many properties in the older sections of town feature raised foundations, front stoops with multiple steps, and interior staircases with tight turns. Our team evaluates each home individually, designing ramp approaches that respect lot grading and property lines, and selecting stair lift models that navigate the specific dimensions of your staircase.
Sidney homeowners often need solutions that address both exterior entry steps and interior stairways. We frequently install modular ramp systems for front and side entries, curved or straight stair lifts for upper-floor access, and bathroom safety modifications including grab bars and shower seats—giving families complete peace of mind on every level of the home.
Beyond Sidney, we serve Shelby County communities including Anna, Botkins, Jackson Center, and Russia, as well as neighboring areas in Auglaize and Miami counties. Our crews travel throughout the region and are familiar with the residential styles and municipal requirements in each community.
