Why We Do This
This company exists because of one family's journey over two decades navigating a world that wasn't built for everyone. That experience is Jason's differentiator — and it shapes every conversation he has with every client.

Jason's Story
Built from Over Two Decades of Lived Experience
Jason Messer didn't start this company because he saw a business opportunity. He started it because he lives it — every single day.
His son has Cerebral Palsy and uses a wheelchair. Jason and his wife — married for over thirty-two years — have navigated the world alongside him for over two decades, scouting locations, planning routes, assessing spaces, and advocating for access that should have already been there. This is what drove him to start the company.
“Accessibility concerns have informed our decision making for his entire life. When access is denied because of a lack of accommodations, it changes everything.”
As a retired Police Lieutenant with 30 years of law enforcement experience, Jason brings the same discipline to every job — show up on time, tell the truth even when it's inconvenient, and do the work right the first time.
He will not oversell. He will not underdeliver. He will give you his honest assessment, build you the right solution, and be there when you need him.
Messer & Co. exists because accessibility isn't just about building code compliance — it's about human dignity. It's about a father visiting his son's home. A veteran returning to their own house after surgery. You moving through your own space with independence and confidence.
Our Core Belief
“Accessibility solutions promote human dignity by creating freedom of movement in spaces that were not designed with disabled people in mind.”
How We Work
The Values Behind Every Job
These aren't marketing words. They're the standard Jason holds himself to — drawn from 30 years in law enforcement and over two decades as a caregiver.
01
Reliable
We show up. Period.
When you call, we answer. When we schedule an assessment, we're there. When we commit to an installation date, we meet it. That's not a low bar — it's a promise too many contractors don't keep. We take it seriously.
02
Integrity
We won't promise what we can't deliver.
If a product isn't right for your space, we'll tell you. If a timeline is unrealistic, we'll say so upfront. We'd rather give you an honest answer you don't love than a comfortable answer that leads you nowhere.
03
Straightforward
No jargon, no runaround. Just honest answers.
We talk to you like a neighbor who happens to know a lot about accessibility. Clear explanations, honest assessments, and recommendations that make sense for your life — not just for our bottom line.
04
Experienced
Over two decades of lived experience. We understand because we live it.
This isn't theoretical knowledge. Jason has spent over two decades as a daily caregiver for his son, navigating accessibility barriers firsthand. That perspective shapes every assessment and every recommendation he makes.
VA Partnership

Veterans Administration Partner
Accessibility solutions for those who served
Many veterans returning home with service-related injuries or disabilities qualify for VA-funded accessibility modifications. As a Rampit dealer, Messer & Co. works directly with the VA to help veterans navigate the process and get the access solutions they've earned — ramps, lifts, grab bars, and more.
Jason understands service. And he understands what it means to come home and need help moving through your own space. If you or a loved one is a veteran, let's talk about what you may be eligible for.
