Accessibility Solutions for Delaware Residents & Businesses
Delaware sits at the crossroads of historic charm and rapid suburban growth. Home to Ohio Wesleyan University and the storied Little Brown Jug harness race, downtown Delaware retains its walkable character along the Olentangy River even as Delaware County ranks among the fastest-growing counties in the state. With proximity to Columbus drawing young families and longtime residents alike, the need for home accessibility spans every generation. Messer & Co. serves Delaware homeowners with professionally installed wheelchair ramps, stair lifts, and grab bars that make aging in place safe and practical.
Delaware's housing stock is remarkably diverse. Near Ohio Wesleyan's campus and along the tree-canopied streets of downtown, you will find stately older homes with high front porches and multi-story layouts. In the growing suburbs spreading north and east, newer construction often features split-level entries, bonus rooms above garages reached by steep stairs, and bathrooms that lack basic accessibility features. Whether your home overlooks the Olentangy River or sits in one of the newer developments, we tailor our installations to match the specific construction methods, materials, and aesthetic of your property.
Delaware County's mix of older homes and modern construction means we encounter a wide variety of accessibility challenges in a single service area. For historic properties, we focus on ramp designs and stair lifts that preserve architectural character. For newer homes, we address the split-level entries and open-concept layouts that can create unexpected barriers when mobility changes. Our experience across both building eras ensures every Delaware homeowner receives a solution designed for their specific home.
In addition to the city of Delaware, we work throughout Delaware County including Powell, Sunbury, Galena, and Ashley. We also serve residents in the southern portions of Marion and Morrow counties. Although Delaware is the farthest community on our regular service map at roughly 55 miles, we maintain the same consultation-to-installation quality our closer customers rely on.
